JJ Schock's Story
JJ ‘s Story is like many individuals who were born with Down Syndrome. He is very social, loving, kind-hearted & seizes the opportunity to give you a hug. He wants everyone to accept him for who he is. JJ likes to be involved & stay busy. He began working at the Goodwill Store when he was seventeen and while later began his second part-time job at Hillcrest Barbers. On his off-days you’ll find him practicing with his Special Olympics swim team, or going to Art classes, helping coach for his Buddy Ball team. He recently joined our local Civitan Club because he likes to help others. He is a member of Ice Breakers (part of CADDS ). JJ is 35 years old & the youngest of six children who love him dearly. He is an absolute diehard Alabama Football fan and is interested in most any sport & would love to participate in as many as his Mom would allow him to be. Not much slows him down except for his aging who have trouble keeping up with him.
