The Center for Adaptive Riding (CAR) provides equine-assisted services for people of all abilities. Equine-assisted services promote the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-beings of individuals of all abilities.

CAR is raising money for a Sure Hands Lift System to assist our riders with limited mobility in transferring on and off of the horse. Getting some riders onto a therapy horse can be an obstacle. A Sure Hands Lift System will provide accessibility for more participants to enjoy the benefits of therapeutic riding, as well as provide a safer option for the participant, staff, volunteers, and the horse.

At this time, without the lift, we are unable to support some riders. A proper and safe mounting and transfer system will provide a comfortable, safe experience for the lifter as well as the participant being lifted. The lift will help riders to build their confidence, increase independence, and improve the physical support offered to each rider.

CAR has graciously received two grants, totalling $18,000. We are asking our community's help to raise the remaining $2,500 needed to purchase the Sure Hands Lift System. A volunteer has pledged $1,000.

The Half-A-Dime Team at Movement Mortage will match all donations made 8/30/23 - 9/1/23, up to $750. We need your help to raise the remaining $750! Thank you Half-A-Dime Team!!
