These two dedicated rescues work tirelessly to save, care for, and rehome rescue cats — now it’s your turn to support them in a fun and impactful way!

Akron Rescue Cats, located in Akron, NY, is a small but fiercely dedicated rescue with a big mission: to serve the cats who are often overlooked, forgotten, or turned away. We’re not just a rescue—we're a last hope for the cats who have nowhere else to go.

Founded on November 1, 2023, we were born out of a deep need in our community for an organization that says yes when others have to say no. In just a year and a half, we';ve rescued over 560 cats, many of whom came from heartbreaking and extreme situations—hoarding cases, abandonment, severe neglect, trauma, and fear-based aggression. These are the cats that need
time, patience, and a different kind of rescue approach—one rooted in compassion, individualized care, and a refusal to give up.

We believe every cat is worth saving, no matter how scared, sick, or shut down they may be. Our team works tirelessly to rehabilitate them physically and emotionally, helping them rediscover safety and trust. We don’t force them to fit into a mold—instead, we find the path that fits them, whether that’s adoption into a loving forever home, placement with a long-term foster, or life in a sanctuary where they can feel secure without pressure to change.

We serve Akron NY and its surrounding communities, filling a crucial gap for high-needs feline cases and offering a lifeline to cats that might otherwise fall through the cracks. Our work is fueled entirely by community support, volunteers, and an unwavering belief that every life matters.

Ten Lives Club began 24 years ago in our founder’s garage with a big dream: to save more cats and give them the lives they deserve. Today, that dream has grown into a thriving 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill cat rescue located at 3741 Lakeshore Road in Blasdell, NY.

We care for over 500 cats at a time, supported by 300+ volunteers, 100+ foster homes, and a dedicated team that includes a full veterinary staff. Our cats are available for adoption across 19 locations throughout WNY, including 2 off-site adoption spaces we rent and 17 local pet store partners.

Last year, we completed 3,500 adoptions, and as of May 2025, we’ve already taken in over 1,514 cats just this year. Since our founding in 2001, we’ve saved more than 45,000 lives, and the best part is we’re just getting started!

At Ten Lives Club, we love working with other rescues. That’s what true rescue is all about: helping each other to save more lives. The work never ends, but small changes make a difference every day.

Our cats love the cat tower beds—they help us keep our shelter clean, comfortable, and cozy for every cat who walks through our doors. We’re so excited to partner with Mr. Grey’s Strays and help support all the incredible work they do in the Brockport area!
