Every December, The Blue Heart Foundation brings our community together for a celebration that is more than just an event — it’s a tradition filled with love, inspiration, and purpose.

The 19th Annual Christmas Breakfast & Awards Ceremony is our chance to honor community champions, celebrate the accomplishments of our Young Blues, and share in the joy of the season over a warm buffet breakfast. Guests will enjoy inspiring speakers, lively entertainment, and heartfelt moments that reflect the true spirit of Blue Heart.

Throughout the years, we’ve recognized trailblazers who embody service and leadership, including Tony Young, Dr. Suzanne Afflalo, Andrew Strong, and the esteemed Dr. Harold K. Brown. This tradition continues in 2025 as we lift up those who pour back into our community.

All proceeds from this year’s Christmas Breakfast will fund the 2026 Blue Heart HBCU Tour.

For our Young Blues, this is more than a trip — it’s a life-changing journey. Walking the campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) like Morehouse, Spelman, Tuskegee, and Xavier opens their eyes to a legacy of excellence, belonging, and leadership.

HBCUs have long been pillars of opportunity, cultivating leaders in every field and nurturing environments where Black students can thrive. By supporting this tour, you’re giving our Young Blues the chance to see themselves in those halls, to dream bigger, and to know they belong in spaces built for their success.

Established in 2013, The Blue Heart Foundation was founded by the late Tracy Morris and his wife April Ray to empower and educate African American young men, 12-19 in San Diego who are under-served and often under-estimated. The Blue Heart Academy offers a solid holistic mentoring program through adult and peer mentoring that facilitates positive interactions, education, empowerment and emotional well being that is a critical component for the success of their lives.
