Our Espinal Family Youth Hockey Program is generously sponsored in loving memory of Andrea Espinal in an effort to keep our community healthy and happy all winter long.

This co-ed program allows children of all skill levels to play hockey on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons throughout the winter.

On Tuesdays & Thursdays, Kent Hulst leads skills and drills sessions. Kent played for former AHL Portland Pirates from 1993-2001 and was captain of these teams from 1995-2001. He now runs many hockey schools and camps for local youth, junior, and professional hockey players. He currently lives in Scarborough.
On Wednesdays, Cape volunteers facilitate a fun hour of pond hockey.

Full hockey gear and sticks are required for the skills and drills sessions, including Neck Laceration Protector mandated by USA Hockey. Helmets, gloves, shin pads and sticks are required for the pond hockey sessions. Players are expected to have completed Learn to Play Hockey before enrolling in this program (Learn to Play will be held Monday afternoons starting December 15th with registration available via Cape Community Services).

Dates:

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Dec 16th - February 12th, excluding school vacation weeks*

Times:

Grades 1-4: 4pm - 5pm
Grades 5-8: 3pm - 4pm

Cost:

$300 + transaction fees per player, including Beauty Unis reversible practice jersey**

All players must complete our online waiver and both players and parents will be asked by coaches to sign our Code of Conduct.

* Schedule is subject to adjustments; Cancellations due to weather are expected given the nature of Cape Ice Rink as an outdoor rink; Sessions will not be rescheduled as weather-related cancellations are accounted for in the cost of this program.

** For registrations on or before November 1st, BeautyUnis reversible practice jerseys are expected in mid-December. For registrations after November 1st, jersey delivery schedule is TBD.

Due to system limitations, please complete the registration form once per player - selecting ONE ticket for the appropriate age group each time.
