Hello muggles! My name is Amina Moon. My parents adopted me from CCHS last year. Unfortunately, I lost a battle with glaucoma and had to have an eye removed, so now I look like Mad Eye. But I don’t mind – now my other senses are stronger. I may not really have a magical eye, but I can smell a treat (or a rat) from a mile away. As my nickname-sake said, “constant vigilance!” Just like the legendary auror, I am fiercely loyal and ready to protect my family from danger. I live with four other CCHS alums, and even though I’m an old lady, I’m usually the first one to bark. I can shred a toy in mere seconds and no squeaker has survived my bite.
I may have a tough exterior, but there’s nothing like a good cuddle in my parents’ bed and a full belly. Have you tried the meaty bits in gravy? Exquisite! My parents say I must be a Hufflepuff because I like to eat so much. I do a little dance before every meal to let them know how excited and appreciative I am. You see, I was picked up on the mean streets of Urbana. But I’m no Slytherin in disguise! I just want a family to love and protect.
Even though I’m twelve, the nice people at CCHS took care of me until I could find a new home. The wise Mad Eye said “if you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” Please consider donating to this fantastic institution so other animals like me have a chance. My parents say I get to live the best life for the rest of my life. I want that for all the lost souls in Champaign-Urbana. Together we can work to provide shelter, care, and loving homes for all. My parents also said if I raise the most money I can forget my diet for a day to celebrate, so please help me get more snacks!
Always,
Amina Mad Eye Moony
