We are a women’s health initiative providing an open forum to explore health issues of relevance to Black women and our families.

Profound conversations occur daily at hair salons in the Black community. Over the past sixteen years, we have worked to expand and adapt this meeting point with a twist on a Barbershop/Salon model to support public health. We invite participants to come join us in a safe, relaxed setting where they can comfortably explore questions that matter to them.

We are kicking off our fall fundraising campaign - and we are tackling the wild and audacious goal of raising $50,000 before the end of the year. This would be the most we have ever raised for our fall drive! That means we need your help.

Building on a Legacy, Investing in Our Team

We stand on the shoulders of Black women organizers - from the Era's Club to the Combahee River Collective - who understood that service and sweat equity are sacred. Now, we're revolutionizing how we honor that tradition by building sustainability into what we do.

Health education forums that co-empower community members
Support for families navigating healthcare challenges
Rest and renewal for volunteer organizers who give their all
Training for our Community Stewards on the frontline for community wellbeing
Resources that address health disparities at their root
Infrastructure that honors both service and sustainability

For many years we have been proud to serve this incredible community, and now with your support, we can go ever further in the new year. We’re proud to have taken on our first Executive Director,Shanaé Burch and we are doing everything we can as a board to resource her growing vision as we move towards 2026.
