Stephanie Douglas' Story
As a mom of two kids with life-threatening food allergies, I know how tough Halloween can be. In 2022, I created the Capital District Teal Pumpkin Party to give families a safe, inclusive way to celebrate.
Held in partnership with the Capital District YMCA Greenbush Branch, this free event welcomes 200+ kids each year for worry-free fun. Inspired by FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project, we ensure every child can enjoy Halloween with non-food treats and inclusive activities.
