Since 2017, we have successfully helped Black voters raise their voices through voting, increasing turnout from Virginia to Alabama! Our work in the South is crucial, as this region has historically been plagued by systemic inequalities: voter suppression, gerrymandering, and divisive tactics. Black voters continue to be ignored by political candidates and campaigns, and without outreach, they may believe their voices do not matter and choose to stay home this election.

In 2024, our Focus states are North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina. We also have a small postcard campaign focused on Black voters in Arizona.

To achieve this ambitious goal of reaching 18 million Black voters across seven states, our campaign leverages various strategies and channels.

Shared Values: Quality education, affordable healthcare, economic opportunities, and social justice are important for everyone, regardless of race or location.
Vision for Change: When our community wins, democracy wins!
Call to Action: Provide specific steps and tools individuals can take to stay informed about voting rules, candidates, elected officials, and what's happening in their state legislature. When you know what's happening, you can fully participate in the electoral process.
Multi-Faceted Approach:
- Phone Banking: Build local community phonebanks in addition to our National phonebanks.
- Neighborhood Canvassing: Organize local teams to go door-to-door, providing voting information and encouraging participation. Relational organizing builds personal connections within communities.
- Community Surveys: Conduct surveys to understand barriers to voting, which helps us develop our GOTV scripts.
- Social Media: Leverage platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to spread the word, share resources, and engage with potential voters.
- Virtual and In-Person Events: Host events (online or offline) featuring influential speakers, information sessions, workshops, local candidate forums, etc., aimed at educating and motivating people to vote.
Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations already working on the ground in these states, providing additional tools and volunteers. Georgia and Virginia already use the Team Unity concept; we are building in North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and South Carolina.
