For five years our superpower has been helping Black voters see themselves as a critical part of democracy. We moved the needle for Federal and State elections in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas and even Alabama! In 2023, 2025 and now in 2026 we will work with Black voters in Wisconsin reminding them that the Supreme Court holds the key to Democracy and justice in their community.

Your grassroots power delivered results this year. Together, we reached over 1 million voters across Virginia and Wisconsin. We doubled the number of Black voters contacted in Virginia, shattering our own records.

We have written postcards, made phone calls, sent text messages and knocked on doors in communities that are still ignored by political parties and political campaigns. As a Black woman led organization we understand that a proper invitation must be extended to voters who still feel unseen, unheard and overlooked; generic postcards with generic messages don't cut it. So in 2026 we are going big and we need your help.

2026 Plan (Increase Black Voter Turnout 10% in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, Texas)
Postcards = 6.8 million with early voting information for individual counties
Phone calls = 450,000 with messages on date and time of early voting and county registrar phone number
Door Knocks = 125,000 with literature with early voting information, county registrar phone number, election day and voter ID requirements
Food Drives = 5 Democracy Centers will provide food distribution for food insecure neighbors working with local churches and community centers
Civics Training=8 states with Federal/State and local Civics information

Why Center For Common Ground
Political candidates and political parties often make promises to low-income Black communities, then disappear after Election Day. We do the opposite: our Democracy Centers host events, run food banks, and build trust year-round, before the campaign starts and after the campaign ends - we're still there.
