You likely joined my community because you believe that great change is possible when we come together with intention and purpose. Many of us have experienced deep transformation as we’ve navigated our own internalized biases in community with one another. Yet, we also know that systemic anti-Blackness continues to create barriers to housing and economic stability for Black families.

Recently, my family and I faced a housing crisis that challenged our security and well-being. When we received a non-renewal notice for our current home, we were left navigating the harsh reality of housing insecurity. Despite years of advocating for mental health and racial justice, we found ourselves caught in a cycle where systemic inequities, like anti-Blackness in the rental market, deny Black families the stability they deserve.

But something truly transformative happened: two dear friends, Lisa and KC, stepped in with a powerful act of solidarity. Rather than letting us face this crisis alone, they took their home off the market and offered it to us as a space of stability and support. This courageous act of trust and relationship disrupted the traditional barriers to homeownership, offering us a path toward long-term stability and the chance to build a legacy home for our family.

Our New Goal: Help Us Buy Our Forever Home!

We are shifting our campaign to focus on purchasing this home—a place where we can truly feel grounded, safe, and supported. Buying this home will allow us to end the cycle of housing insecurity and establish a permanent foundation for our family’s future. Your contributions will help us:

Why Relocation?

After years of holding space for others’ healing and advocating for mental health, Myisha T. Hill is now facing the harsh reality of housing insecurity. Despite her tireless work, her current townhome lease is not being renewed, leaving her, her children, and their dogs without a guaranteed place to go. This is further complicated by the ongoing impact of anti-Blackness in the rental market, which often denies Black families the stability they deserve. This moment of uncertainty has deepened Myisha's commitment to prioritize her own mental health, reconnect with her family, and continue guiding others toward healing and justice.

What Will This Support Involve?

Moving and Haul Truck Rental: Covering the costs of moving her family and belongings to a new, safe space that meets their needs.
Storage Fees for One Year: Ensuring Myisha's belongings are securely stored while she transitions to more stable housing.
First, Last, and Security Deposit: Providing the financial cushion necessary to secure a new home, giving Myisha and her family the stability they urgently need.
Temporary Accommodations: Support for temporary housing solutions during the transition period to prevent any disruption in Myisha’s work and family life.
Essential Living Expenses: Assisting with the immediate needs of her family as they navigate this period of uncertainty and change.
