Why Support Collaboraction?

We’re at a game-changing moment.

For 29 years, Collaboraction has led the charge for socially conscious theatre in Chicago—bringing urgent, impactful stories to life without a permanent home for the past four years.

Along the way, we’ve made history:
The Lost Story of Emmett Till: Then and Now – honored with three Emmys.
La Havana Madrid – a cultural phenomenon, remounted with acclaim.
Since 2015 – paid youth theatre training that changes lives.
In 2020 – we went global with our KEDA (Knowledge, Empathy, Dialogue, Action) methodology.

And now, in 2024, we’ve found our forever home: The House of Belonging at the Kimball Arts Center in Humboldt Park.

This $1M dream project hasn’t been easy—city permit delays, construction hurdles, tight timelines—but the mission is too important to pause.
