This is a photo of my 16-year-old Boston Chi mix Chelsea. CHA rescued her in 2012 after another shelter put her on their euthanasia list for growling. Every year I raise money for dogs like Chelsea that regardless of what their story is, they deserve a chance.
If you are not aware, the homeless animal population across the country is dire. Rescues and shelters are completely full, with adoptions at an all-time low.
Fundraising for CHA Animal shelter is more critical than ever so the shelter can continue its rescue efforts. So far this year CHA has taken in 947 homeless animals with an average of 122 animals a month. The average cost of vet care and housing per animal is $350, resulting in a total cost of $512,000 for this year alone.
Frequently, the animals we take in need additional veterinary care, beyond what our adoption fee covers. Due to this increase in number of cats and dogs that we are rescuing, CHA now must increase the amount of donations we are seeking. Unfortunately, without additional funds CHA cannot continue to take in additional animals.
As a dedicated 12-year member of the CHA Animal Shelter board of directors, I am asking for your support today. Please consider donating to my Dog Jog fundraising page so CHA Animal Shelter can continue its mission of helping the homeless dogs and cats of Central Ohio.
Kathy Thanks so much for your donation and kind words.
