When Child Justice first began in 2012, we operated solely with pro bono partners, handling complex custody cases where abuse or domestic violence was involved. A pivotal moment came in 2016, when a generous donor enabled us to hire our first legal director and staff attorney, allowing us to bring key cases in-house. Since then, we've expanded our legal team to include a deputy legal director, four additional staff attorneys, and eight dedicated paralegals. Together with our pro bono network, this team of 14 legal professionals assists more than 700 children and their protective caregivers each year. Our annual budget is now over $2.8 million and contributions from private donors are a key part of our fundraising strategy.
