Kiera Steele's Story

I cannot believe that I have been working at ConnectiKids for almost 15 years! When I graduated from high school looking for a summer job before college, I did not know then that that small choice would jumpstart me into my career path. I worked at ConnectiKids every summer while in college, then once graduated continued to support school year programming. Seeing the second-grade students I started with that first summer grow, learn, explore, and become their own person as they graduated was such an amazing feeling to know that I had a part in their overall success. Helping them meet new people through our mentoring program, explore different career options through the enrichment program, and allow them to foster friendship and community through the summer program. These programs had a profound impact on my life, and it’s that same sense of purpose that drives me today—to ensure these opportunities continue to shape the lives of children, both now and in the future. For over 46 years, ConnectiKids has been making a profound impact on our community, serving over 15,000 children through free after-school tutoring, mentoring, arts, and enrichment programs, in addition to our free, full-day, multi-week summer program. We deeply value the success and well-being of our students and community, a sentiment that I hope you share. Your donation will contribute to a legacy of transformation in our community. The funds raised will directly support the continuation and growth of these critical programs, ensuring they remain accessible to the children who need them.
