💔 Camille Is Getting Stronger — But She Still Needs Our Help

Update – March 7, 2026: After several frightening medical crises and days in the hospital, Camille is now recovering in our foster care under the guidance of UF specialists. Doctors have begun a medication trial while additional tests are still pending, and we are beginning to see encouraging signs of improvement. Camille still has more diagnostics and treatment ahead, and we have not yet reached the goal for her medical care. Your support continues to make this level of care possible.

Thanks to your kindness, Camille’s fund has now raised over $12,000—but her care has already exceeded $15,000, and more testing is still ahead.

Camille is only about six years old, and her health has been up and down like a roller coaster. About a week after a routine specialist visit—where she walked in on her own—we began to see signs she was slipping into crisis. She became weak, could not sit or stand, stopped eating, and was no longer mentally responsive as usual.

We rushed her to a local emergency hospital, where doctors started IV antibiotics to treat a serious infection. Camille rallied at first—but after several days of inpatient care, her progress stalled, and something deeper was still wrong. Working closely with her doctors, we transferred Camille—once she was stable enough—to the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital for advanced diagnostics and the best chance at answers.

At only six years old, Camille deserves the chance to find answers and a future.

Specialists in Internal Medicine and Neurology at the University of Florida carefully reviewed her history, tests, and imaging to help stabilize her and begin searching for the underlying cause of the complex medical problems that kept knocking her down.

Camille is now resting comfortably in foster care while additional test results are pending. Under the guidance of the UF specialists, she has begun a carefully monitored medication trial, taking things one thoughtful step at a time.
