The NDSCS Wildcats Football Team is an NJCAA DIII Non-Scholarship Athletic Program. Your Wildcats had a very successful 2022-23 Football Season where they went 9-2 and runners-up in the Division 3 National Championship game, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

It was at this game, where they realized the negative uncontrollable effects of playing football in the upper Midwest’s harsh weather conditions. This quest began as fans sat in the stands, in Glen Ellyn, watching our amazing young men while they played in the D3 NJCAA National Championship - Red Grange Bowl game in single digit temperatures in December.

Our opposing team seemed unaffected on their sidelines as they were bundled up in Sideline capes. We believe many of you know and understand how the bitter cold of the Upper-Midwest can affect each player. It occurred to us, the fans, that our players should have the capes to help keep them warm during the games. Because it is such a large expense, there has never been enough money in the budget to purchase them.

This is where we need your help. The cost of each cape is $135.00, and we need 80. We are setting up a campaign, through the NDSCS Alumni Foundation, called the "Cape Crusaders Fund". This is a special fund set up specifically to go towards football and the purchase of the sideling capes.

We welcome any, and all donations. However, we are very sensitive to the fact that some of you have already donated to the NDSCS Catbacker/Letterwinners Club, and, or to the NDSCS Alumni Foundation. We ask that those donations continue as they depend on your support. This one-time donation to the Cape Crusaders fund would be a separate additional donation. As with any donation, the NDSCS Alumni Foundation will issue a letter to be used for tax credit.
