Join the PNHP-NY Metro
Care for Every Body! 5K fun run, stroll & roll to raise funds for the movement for guaranteed universal single-payer healthcare for every body! With both in-person and virtual participation options we invite you to the pavement to show your support in any way you choose: walking, biking, scooting, running, rolling, skating, etc.

Come ready for fun! You're welcome to create & carry rally signs, hand out our #PassNYHealth flyers to passers-by en-route, wear your very own commemorative t-shirt, come up with creative single-payer themed costumes or matching group hats or headbands, or dress in your white coats or scrubs... whatever gets you going!

Participants: Note that there are parts of the loop that are slightly steep, so please keep that in mind if you are rolling. We will have some volunteers on hand to assist wheelchair users. If you think you might need assistance to complete the route, please indicate that in the questions asked at checkout so we can make sure to have enough volunteers on hand.

Online Registration Details

Registration is now open!

  • Online registration closes at 10pm Friday, October 8.
  • There will NOT be in-person day-of race registration.
  • Create your personal fundraising page to compete for prizes (instructions above, prize details below).
  • In-person & remote participation options are available at checkout.
  • If registering for your family or other group, be sure to register for every individual member of your party so each will get their own entry slot & race bib, etc.!
  • To join an existing team you will be given an option to select from the list of teams during checkout.
  • To create a team, click the TEAM UP button at the top of this page!
  • PNHP - NY Metro welcomes all to participate at whatever activity & monetary level they are comfortable.
  • Please read our participation waiver available here. You will be asked to agree to the terms at checkout.
  • Souvenir water bottles will be distributed at the event. You must attend in-person in order to receive one as we are unable to ship at this time.

Race Day Logistics

Remote / Virtual Participation
You can participate remotely wherever you are! Select virtual participation at checkout
- we will email you a printable bib - order your shirt if you'd like - and complete your 5K where & when you please - just be sure to send us the info listed here between now & Oct 10th!

When ready, send us an email with: 1. screenshot of your distance and finish time (you can use any tool you like to track - there are many free apps available), 2. photos of you (and your team, if applicable) in action, 3. any links to your posts on social media for us to share!

In-Person Participation
The Care for Every Body! 5K will start on the East Drive, at the Lincoln Road entrance just north of LeFrak Center, proceeding in a counterclockwise direction around the park. The finish line will be on the East Drive near the Parkside Ave entrance. Map is

  • Bib pickup/Check In: Lincoln Rd entrance at the East Drive beginning at 10am. Please arrive early, as we will be starting promptly at 11am!
  • Bag check will NOT be offered.
  • Lockers are available at the LeFrak center (for a fee).
  • Bathrooms (real wheelchair accessible ones!) at Lincoln Rd entrance & LeFrak Center.
  • Souvenir water bottle, water and cups provided at start.
  • Water fountains available throughout park and route.
  • Grab & go refreshments (fruit, power bars) and water will be provided at the finish line.
  • We will NOT be holding an awards ceremony or issuing medals to participants.
  • The Care for Every Body 5K is a noncompetitive event - because we are in this together to win guaranteed healthcare for ALL!! (We will post race times online after the race for anyone curious.)

Please Note: The route is open to the public and people of all speeds, ages, abilities and modes of transportation, so please be prepared to share the road!

COVID and Safety Protocols and Info

PNHP - NY Metro is committed to ensuring the safety of our participants, volunteers, and neighbors. We are taking the following measures to ensure a safe event. Please adhere to the following safety guidelines and note that this is subject to change, pending any local regulation changes:

  • If you are sick or have any possible symptoms, please stay home and take time to recover!
  • Face Coverings: Participants must wear a face covering during check-in and while waiting to start and at the finish, and any time they are unable to be socially distanced from other people.
  • Start: Participants and volunteers will be directed to line up 6 feet apart in the recreation lane.
  • Water Stations on Course: We will provide participants with an individual bottle of water at the start and there are water fountains available throughout the park along the route.
  • No Awards Ceremony: We will not be holding an awards ceremony at the finish of this race. Participants and volunteers must wear a face covering in the finish area, must not congregate, and must disperse shortly after finishing the race. Final race results and fundraising awards will be announced via email and online.
  • Contact Tracing: Race organizers will maintain a log of participants and contact information for contact tracing. In the event that someone reports a positive test, we will send communications to all participants and volunteers for that race to inform them and ask them to get tested. Race organizers will cooperate with any state and local contact tracers to help contact participants as necessary.
  • We will have medics available for the event.
  • Please observe the Prospect Park rules for pedestrians, cyclists and skaters posted HERE.
