💔 In Loving Memory of Cashew 🥜🐾

Our sweet Cashew has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Despite multiple veterinary visits, emergency hospitalization, and intensive medical intervention, Cashew's condition continued to deteriorate.

Overnight, he developed a fever and began experiencing severe seizures that could not be controlled. We made the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully rather than allow him to continue suffering.

We had hoped for a very different ending.

At Angels With Paws, we believe every animal deserves a chance, even when the odds are stacked against them. Sometimes rescue means saving a life. Other times, it means providing comfort, compassion, and dignity when there is nothing more medicine can do.

Although Cashew is no longer with us, the medical expenses from his care remain.

His emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, treatments, and end-of-life care have left Angels With Paws with a significant veterinary bill.

We are asking for help covering these expenses so we can continue providing lifesaving care to the many cats, kittens, and other animals who depend on us.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.

We couldn't give Cashew the future we wanted for him. But we gave him a chance, we gave him love, and ultimately, we gave him peace.

Thank you for being part of his story.

Rest easy, little Shark Mouth. 🦈❤️

Yes, we're a cat rescue. But when a critically ill puppy needed us, we couldn't turn

Meet Cashew! 🥜🐶

Cashew is a young puppy who unexpectedly came into our lives after being found in desperate need of medical attention. When attempts to contact his owners went unanswered, we knew we couldn't stand by while he suffered.

So we did what rescuers do. We helped.

Unfortunately, Cashew is facing some incredibly serious medical challenges.

This sweet little guy has an unusually shaped skull, significant neurological symptoms, episodes of extreme lethargy, and periods when he appears unable to see or hear.

And despite everything, Cashew has managed to win over everyone he meets. He has so many teeth that his veterinary team affectionately calls him "Shark Mouth." 🦈❤️

He even knows his new name!

💔 Cashew Is Fighting for His Life

Cashew's condition has taken a frightening turn.

He is currently hospitalized in emergency critical care after experiencing severe seizures.

His veterinary team is working to stabilize him and determine what's causing his symptoms.

Veterinarians are concerned about two potentially serious conditions: a liver shunt and structural abnormalities within his brain.

To get the answers Cashew desperately needs, he requires advanced diagnostic imaging, including a CT scan and MRI. These tests will help his medical team better understand what's happening and determine whether treatment options are available.

Cashew's medical expenses are now estimated at $9,000–$10,000, and that number could continue to grow depending on what his testing reveals.

❤️ We Can't Do This Without You

At Angels With Paws, we're known for rescuing cats and kittens, especially those with complicated medical needs.

But compassion doesn't stop at a particular species.

When Cashew needed someone to fight for him, we stepped up. Now we're asking our incredible community to help us continue that fight.

Your donation will go toward:

🏥 Emergency hospitalization and critical care
🧠 CT scan and MRI to investigate his liver and brain abnormalities
💊 Seizure management and medications
🩺 Specialized veterinary consultations and diagnostic testing
❤️ Continued medical treatment based on his results

We don't know what Cashew's future holds. We don't know what answers these tests will bring.

But we do know that he deserves a chance.

And sometimes giving an animal that chance means taking on something much bigger than we ever anticipated.

🥜 Please Help Us Fight for Cashew

Whether you can donate $5, $25, $100, or simply share his story, you're helping us give this little puppy the opportunity to fight for his future.

Because rescue isn't about the species. It's about showing up when an animal needs you most.

Thank you for supporting Cashew, the hundreds of cats and kittens in our care, and the lifesaving work of Angels With Paws.

Sometimes rescue comes with whiskers. And sometimes it comes with a wagging tail. 🐾❤️
