Charlie's SENIOR W.I.S.H Program (Wellness, Independence, Shuttle, & Housing)

Charlie, a rescue pup, began visiting seniors across Mahoning County in 2019. During those visits, we heard countless heartfelt stories of deep love between seniors and their pets. These stories all too often ended in the heartbreak that comes when financial or health challenges forced them apart.

Inspired by those stories, Charlie’s SENIOR W.I.S.H. was born - a program designed to keep people and pets together through every stage of life, especially our seniors.

Charlie's SENIOR W.I.S.H. Program (Wellness, Independence, Shuttle, Housing) helps seniors and individuals with limited mobility stay united with their companion animals by providing essential care and resources. With your support, we’re changing what’s possible for seniors and their beloved pets right here in the Mahoning Valley.

What Charlie's SENIOR W.I.S.H. Does

Wellness: Covers vet care, vaccinations, medication, and nutritional support for pets of seniors on fixed incomes.
Independence: Delivers food, medicine, and pet care supplies to homebound seniors, promoting health and emotional well-being.
Shuttle: Operates vehicles that transport pets to and from vet or grooming appointments and deliver medications.
Housing: Provides temporary foster care for pets when owners are hospitalized or displaced, and permanent care when needed.
