More than 15 million older adults are “economically insecure,” meaning they live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level ($27,180 per year for a single person in 2022), according to the National Council on Aging. (Forbes, May 2023). Although everybody would want to stay in their homes, for many, access to quality healthcare, daily living needs and affordability makes moving to assisted living, skilled and long term care necessary and this is where we need your support.

When Charlene recently fell and broke her hip in her independent living apartment, she chose Florence Home first for rehabilitation and guidance. Our professional staff not only worked with Charlene to heal her hip, but also to evaluate her needs in greater detail which necessitated extra care for her.

This year, with current inflation, our cost to provide quality care increased in excess of 20%. For the majority of our residents, Medicaid is the only “insurance” that will pay for care, and Medicaid does not pay enough to cover the true cost of our care and services. That’s why your help is so needed.
