I am asking you for a small donation to support a very big project. –a new film following the important work and the story behind the man, Hari Bhandary of Clinic Nepal. Hari Bhandary grew up, like most Nepalese people, as a subsistence farmer, never attending higher education past high school. Over the last 30 years, under the name Clinic Nepal, he has worked hard to provide his village in southern Nepal with a modern medical clinic, elementary school, and a water system that provides clean water to over 12,000 villagers. If you ask Hari, he will say his biggest accomplishment is that he has put over 500 students through school from start to finish- with some even becoming doctors and engineers. He did all of it with relentless determination, and a drive to help his neighbors.

Clinic Nepal’s reach has extended beyond Hari’s home village. He helped neighboring communities in need and took an active role in organizing relief following the 2015 earthquakes and the recent during the COVID pandemic. Hari has skillfully amassed financial and volunteer support of many worldwide. And yet, he remains as patient and persistent as ever. This is where your donation comes in.

This January 2025, Hari and I plan to make a short film on the work of Clinic Nepal. This new project will replace the well-worn video from 2005 which Hari uses for donor relations. More importantly, it will stylistically document all of the advances of the projects since 2005, while opening new audiences to the work of Clinic Nepal. I visited the Clinic several times in the early 2000s and helped photograph many of his early projects. My career path as a documentary filmmaker has evolved since the early 2000s, and I can now quickly and efficiently help my friend create the next iteration of the Clinic Nepal story.

The film is intended to not only display the ongoing work of Hari and the team at Clinic Nepal but also to examine the inner workings of an aid group in one of the harshest locations in the world. We will film all of the past and current projects to provide a complete document of Clinic Nepal’s history. We will strive to capture Hari's motivation and the place it comes from, creating an in-depth character story in the style of a short film.

Hari and I have attempted to make this film before, but the pandemic stopped us. This time, it feels right. I cannot overstate the importance of the work that Hari is doing to improve the lives of the people of his village. I believe in his work so much that I’ve donated my time to travel to Nepal and produce this film to help him raise awareness of his cause. My travel has been graciously taken care of by Aztec Travel (MedicForce USA), and I’m inviting you to join me by making a small donation to help complete the film so that the world can witness what Clinic Nepal is doing.

Hari is an ordinary man doing extraordinary things. I hope to give him a bigger platform to share his story and inspire others to step out of their comfort zone and do the same.
