David Resmo's fundraiser for the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge is supporting Foster Kids and the Cobbled Streets Charity.

I have been accepted and am participating in the 2026 Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge starting August 2nd in Woodstock Illinois and I am fundraising for Cobbled Streets which is an amazing charity which provides children in foster and kinship care with individualized experiences and enriching opportunities so they can thrive.

Children end up in foster care through no fault of their own, often as a result of abuse or neglect. They carry emotional trauma that is exacerbated by multiple moves, transient relationships, and a fractured and overburdened foster care system. All foster children have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which are strongly linked to a higher risk of negative health and behavioral outcomes later in life. The state is obligated to ensure their healthy development and a path to success, yet only 30% of foster teens graduate high school and 33% of youth who leave the system are homeless by their 21st birthday. Foster kid's need our help!

The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge (HHMC) is an endurance ride across North America.
This year's challenge's theme is KTENTOWSHKETON MNOPMATSOWEN (Den-do-skit-don Nope-maht-so-when) roughly translates to “Try to live a good life” but also has an intentional meaning that it is up to you and your decisions to make a good life.

The challenge begins on
We will be riding 10,000 miles primarily on 2 lane roads. We do not know the route and will be given paper, turn by turn, directions at each checkpoint, along the way.

The challenge is named after a Sioux Indian, Chief Crazy Horse's, rallying call and aims to raise awareness and fundraise for charities while passing through some of the nation's most scenic areas.

The challenge will, hopefully, take 10–14 days to complete. We must sleep outside next to our motorcycles, follow turn-by-turn directions, and are not permitted to use electronic navigation or stay in hotels. Other rules & restrictions include:

The motorcycle must be American made
The gas tank cannot be larger than 6.2 gallons
Riders must choose a charity to raise money for.
Speeding ticket, alcohol use or going over 100mph will disqualify the participant.
We all will have, real time, GPS trackers on our bikes so you and the organizers can follow us along the route.
