Support Fresh Food for Our Community This Holiday Season

Active Cultures, Food Forward, Food Access LA, and artist Minh Phan are coming together to host a Community Produce Drive at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market. And we need your help.

Recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) have made it even harder for families to afford fresh, healthy food. SNAP supports more than 42 million people nationwide, including 1.5 million right here in LA County. Even though the government shutdown has ended, many households are still facing reduced benefits and new program limits. The uncertainty ahead means even more pressure on families relying on SNAP, especially during the holiday season, when access to fresh produce is already stretched thin.

That’s where our community steps in.

When you shop at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market on December 7, 2025 from 8 AM-1 PM, you can purchase extra produce from local farmers and drop it off at our central booth. Food Forward will distribute all donated items the same day to households experiencing food insecurity.

If you can’t make it in person or want to deepen your impact? You can also make a gift here on Givebutter. Your contribution will go directly to purchases of produce from local farmers to be distributed with the donated purchases.

Every bag of produce and every dollar donated brings fresh food to families who need it most.
