Green Amendments are transforming how people advocate for, and enforce, their inalienable human right to a clean, safe and healthy environment. Green Amendments are transforming the right to clean water and air, a safe climate and healthy environments from a firmly held belief into an enforceable constitutional entitlement of the people.

If you're new to the movement, a Green Amendment is language added to a state constitution's Bill of Rights, that recognizes and protects the rights of ALL people to pure water, clean air, a safe climate, and healthy environments. With Green Amendments, our environmental rights and natural resources are given highest constitutional protection that is on par with other fundamental freedoms like speech and religion. Currently, only Pennsylvania, Montana and New York have Green Amendments.

In the relatively short time it has existed, the Green Amendment movement has proven successful at re-shaping government action when it comes to environmental protection.

--> Green Amendments prioritize prevention of pollution and environmental desecration, an end to environmental racism, and protection of future generations that is as powerful as the protection owed to generations here on earth today.

-> Green Amendments give people the power to hold government accountable when it fails to properly and equitably protect natural resources and environmental rights.

Green Amendments have:

defeated laws advancing fossil fuels;
won against laws denying the climate crisis;
protected urban forests from decimation for development;
secured drinking water protections to address toxic Forever Chemical contamination;
required clean up of supersaturated toxic contamination; and
protected wildlife and pristine habitats outside Yellowstone National Park from industrial gold mining operations.

But we can't advance this transformational change without your help.

In addition to securing passage of a New York Green Amendment in 2021, and the transformational success of Pennsylvania's Green Amendment, our Green Amendments For The Generations organization has spread to 18 states. More and more communities are seeking our partnership and support to help them achieve this transformational environmental protection, justice and change.

We help people develop their own leadership voice so they can fight for constitutional recognition, and enforcement, of their environmental rights;
