Campaign Update

We are fortunate to have news from some of our co-op contacts.
- The Industrial Commons in Morganton has power, water, and Internet restored. Staff members are safe, but many are still without electricity. Damage has been minor, but folks are exhausted.
- Firestorm Books has electricity again, the store is intact. True to mission, Firestorm has been hosting daily community meetings, coordinating local aid, cleanup, and relief efforts. The store is serving as an information hub for local needs and resources.
- The Poder Emma community has suffered significant damage in some of their manufactured housing co-ops. Workers and residents are in good spirits; people are clearing road and doing home repair, distributing food and water. Some residents are unaccounted for. Some homes were damaged or completely destroyed. Funds will be needed to repair or replace those. You can donate here or directly to Poder Emma though Colaborativa la Milpa.
- Members of Tierra Fertíl are grateful to be safe, not able to assess the situation on their farm.
- French Broad Food Co-op is structurally intact and we hope has had electricity restored. They are low on inventory, empty shelves since the weekend.

National Co+op Grocers is matching donations up to $100,000.00 from their grocery co-ops and staff through a fund managed by Cooperative Development Foundation. Donate through their campaign page.
