Carolina Common Enterprise is raising funds to help our cooperative partners recover from destruction that we do not yet know about.

Hurricane Helene devastated the southern Appalachian region, particularly in Western North Carolina. The storm destroyed homes, businesses, roads, and most of the public infrastructure of the region. It is a continuing crisis that will take months and years to resolve.

We know that the cooperatives in the region are affected and out of operation. We believe that the people are safe. We do not know the extent of the damage and what will be needed after public services are restored.

Please donate now to a fund that Carolina Common Enterprise will maintain for the sole purpose of distributing to our cooperative partners harmed by Helene. With our partner the Cooperative Councils of the Carolinas we will directly fund restoration and rebuilding of co-ops in the Appalachian region.

Self-help is a pillar of the cooperative movement and mutual self-help by cooperation among cooperatives is a crucial part of expanding the the cooperative sector of the economy. - Principle 6
