Purpose:
Creating opportunities and access to employment training and placements, while strengthening life skills to help families and individuals thrive and succeed. The vision is to establish leveled fields of engagement for the underserved and disabled, sustaining teaching environments for independence. The core values include community empowerment, investment, accountability, and compassion.

Mission:
The mission of Advanced Independence Charity is to transform lives through training in self-sufficiency and job skills. By mobilizing the community in effective partnerships, the organization supports individuals and families to achieve their potential through education and become self-sufficient.

Initiatives:

Glorious Treasures Thrift Store: Through job readiness programs, members are guided with clear direction and provided a safe work and learning environment to acquire new skills. This prepares them for employment, exceeding expectations and fostering independence.
AIC Works™ Training Program:
AIC Works™ is an employment training and retention program designed specifically for individuals with physical and or developmental delays.

AIC Works™ desire is to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to obtain gainful employment within the community in which they reside.

AIC Works™ will teach and train individuals to independently complete the following:
- Search out employment opportunities that interest them
- Learn skill sets needed to complete the job applied for
- Apply for the position via filling out the job application online
- Attend job interviews
- Learn how to use public transportation or other transportation services available to them. Some of these are at no cost or minimal cost thru their insurance.
- The importance of maintaining your job and working to your fullest capability
- How to effectively handle conflict with a co-worker or boss

Founders:
Cynthia Edhuine is the founder and Jamie Meyers is the Co-Founder of Advanced Independence Charity. Their vision and combined years of expertise led to the establishment of Glorious Treasures Thrift Store as a resource for occupational training for adults with physical and cognitive challenges. The store provides job training, personal empowerment, and opportunities for members to contribute to their community.

Expansion:
In March 2022, Glorious Treasures Thrift Store expanded its space to accommodate its growth, reflecting the organization's commitment to enabling more individuals through training opportunities. Advanced Independence Charity's dedication to empowering individuals through training, job skills development, and community support exemplifies its commitment to fostering independence and self-sufficiency among its members.
