Model UN For All

Help keep Model UN as accessible as possible to all students, regardless of race, gender, or financial situation. We are one of DCI’s largest and most decorated clubs, and that wouldn’t be possible without the support of donors like you! Donations of all sizes are greatly appreciated!

In the history of our club, we have won 60+ competitive awards, a third of those being from the '25-'26 school year alone. This accomplishment as one of the most successful MUN teams in the District of Columbia is only possible because our club is unique in that we try to keep everything free for all students despite the often incredibly high costs of MUN conferences. With over 70 members, and a promise to bring each one to at least one or more conferences, costs add up. Thank you again for your support in giving kids the opportunity to practice diplomacy, public speaking, policy research, and creative problem solving.

Goals

We are raising $7,000 to help pay for conferences, club merch, and other club costs. In years past, we have been able to buy each member of Model UN a t-shirt, and by popular request, we are bringing that as well as many other merchandise options back. This fundraiser will also help pay for our end of year Gala and senior celebration

$25 can pay for a hoodie,

$50 can pay for a delegate's registration fee at a high school conference,

$100 can one delegate’s registration fee at a college conference,

$300 can pay for one conference hotel room!

Impact statement

Model UN conferences foster incredible growth in the character of our delegation. Students gain invaluable debating and self-advocacy skills, learn how to speak in front of large audiences, gain collaboration experience, and participate in highly educational, competitive settings. These opportunities make our members more academically motivated, determined, and confident. DCI’s inclusive Model UN provides students with otherwise unavailable opportunities, allowing them to contemplate potential careers and learn life skills. Three years ago, we only went to two conferences. Two years ago, we went to 6, this year, we will/have gone to 7, as well as increasing the number of students attending each conference. Last year at American University we had our first large delegation with 20 students attending!
