Five days after Christmas, our smart, sassy, and witty 4-year-old Lola was rushed to the ER after we noticed several suspicious symptoms. Bloodwork revealed what no parent ever wants to hear—she was diagnosed with B-cell lymphocytic leukemia at just 2 years old.
Since then, Lola has endured countless hospital stays, medical trauma, and treatments that no child should ever have to face. She’s a wonderful big sister to Klaira and baby Aliyah. Watching her childhood shift from spontaneous moments at the park, playdates with friends, and visits to her favorite restaurants—to carefully planned days revolving around her health—has been heartbreaking.
Yet, despite it all, Lola continues to shine. Her wit, sass, and fun-loving personality brighten every room. She’s fought courageously through one year and a half of difficult phases of treatment and is now in maintenance phase—another 6 months of treatment before she rings that bell! Through it all, we’ve held onto faith, trusting God is making a way for her complete healing.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
I am joining the Adventure Ted Challenge with Childhood Cancer Society to help families like ours—families whose children are fighting the toughest battles of their lives.
This mission is personal to us. No child should ever have their childhood stolen by cancer. No parent should ever watch their child suffer through chemo chairs, endless scans, and sleepless nights of worry. Every child deserves laughter, play, and dreams that stretch as far as the stars.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not only standing with Lola, but also helping Childhood Cancer Society bring light, joy, and hope to other families in need. $10,000 helps send two families on wish trips through CCS’s Adventure Ted program—making memories that remind them joy is still possible.
