What's Drop Deadlift Gorgeous?

We're glad you asked! Drop Deadlift Gorgeous – hosted by Solcana Fitness – is a volunteer-led, community-driven event designed to empower, support, and create visibility regarding the importance of trans+ inclusion in sport. Trans+ rights, particularly within sports, are under attack. Drop Deadlift Gorgeous brings athletes, organizations, and our community together to envision a more inclusive and joyful world through friendly competition while raising funds for trans+ and gender-expansive communities.

Drop Deadlift Gorgeous has raised over $350,000 for trans+ communities in the Midwest!

Register as a Lifter

Powerlifting meets can be intimidating – we know. But they don't have to be. Drop Deadlift Gorgeous is unsanctioned, which means it does not adhere to the policies of USA Powerlifting pertaining to gendered divisions, or any policies regulating or restricting competition for transgender and non-binary athletes.

While there is an element of fun competition, the event is centered on confidence, community, and joy. Athletes are encouraged to set a personal goal, whether that be a new PR, or simply feeling more confident in your deadlift skills. This event is designed for (and highly encourages) athletes of all experience levels, genders, and ages. You do not have to be a Solcana member to participate.

There is no registration fee, rather, we ask lifters to donate their registration fee (min. $25) directly to kickstart their fundraiser page.

All registered lifters must create their fundraiser pages by September 8th, or they will not be able to lift.

Fundraising

Each registered lifter is responsible for creating their own fundraising goal. A minimum goal of $250 is strongly encouraged. We recognize that fundraising can be intimidating, especially when your communities may or may not have access to discretionary funds. That's why we are committed to helping you set and achieve a goal that feels meaningful for you. Last year, 150+ Drop Deadlift Gorgeous participants brought in over $130,000.

As a donor, you can direct your donation to a specific lifter/s.

TRANSCEND Campaign

Drop Deadlift Gorgeous will (AGAIN) be raising funds for the PFund TRANSCEND Campaign.

In 2024, $300,000 was awarded to 33 trans+ serving organizations in the mid-west by PFund Foundation. Over $100,000 of those funds were raised by Drop Deadlift Gorgeous. In 2025, Drop Deadlift Gorgeous raised nearly $150,000 - 25% of the TRANSECND Campaign funds awarded.

The TRANSCEND Campaign is raising funds for distribution to partners across the region doing on-the-ground work to protect and assist trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth and adults. 100% of donations to the TRANSCEND Campaign will support:

Accessible and affirming healthcare
Safe and supportive communities for youth
Queer connections through trans inclusive sports, pride festivals, gatherings

How are TRANSCEND Campaign funds awarded?

Organizations offering trans+ & gender non-conforming communities
Community volunteers review grant applications
1. Apply to be a community grant reviewer
Recipients are notified in early 2027
1. Grants average between $5,000 - $50,000

Creating access for trans+ athletes is essential to the success of this event. As a sponsor, your support will cover operating costs to pull off this growing event. Sponsorship starts at $1000.
