WHAT IS DOLL INVASION?

Doll Invasion brings a record number of trans people to Fire Island annually — providing them with radical access to the 100 year LGB history of the island through stipends, robust travel and safety information, free buses, ferry rides, programming, and employment opportunities for an all trans cultural production.

Funds support our material and labor costs for an annual "invasion" — a mass descendance on the island — for a fundraising initiative, raising money for the vital work of Queer|Art and Advocates 4 Trans Equality (A4TE) - two trans-led organizations supporting everything from artist grants and mentorships to free name changes and national legal advocacy. This year Doll Invasion is TWO DAYS: AUGUST 23 and 24 RSVP HERE.

THE FUTURE OF DOLL INVASION

Entering its third year, this TWOC led cultural hub is raising funds for its future as an organization that can exist year-round with programming and resourcing all summer instead of just once a year.

During this time of intensifying attacks on the community by the federal government, Doll Invasion is creating infrastructure to expand its offerings for trans artists and organizers to build and create on their own terms in New York City, Fire Island, and historic gaycation towns across the world; have growing access to heal, rest and restore on the Island; and fundraise for trans led orgs and collectives in fun and exciting ways.

WHO IS DOLL INVASION?

A 501c3-fiscally sponsored collective of producers, artists, PR girls, nightlife legends, corporate gays, and grassroots organizers. Our work is funded fully by donations and most of us volunteer our time.

WHO IS DOLL INVASION FOR?

Entry is free for trans people and welcome to all. Attendees are an even mix of trans community and allies. Some travel from out of town to attend. We believe in creating community between trans people and their allies with fun, artistry, and resource-sharing during Trumpian times. Our work is powered by property owners, small businesses, and organizations on the island who support our work.

WHAT WE DO

RAISE FUNDS FOR A4TE AND QUEER|ART: artist grants, mentorship programs, legal services, political advocacy (and more) for trans people at the local and national level.

BOOST VITAL WORK by these partnered nonprofits with unprecedented momentum and glamorous PR.

CREATE ACCESS on an inaccessible island with free transportation and entry, need-based stipends, travel info, safety teams, and more.

CHAMPION TRANS CULTURAL PRODUCTION with artistry, organizing power, paid work, and skills in professionalization.

MAKE HISTORY for trans communities and icons in the one-hundred year archive of Fire Island as an LGBTQ+ safe haven.

SHIFT NARRATIVES at the macro level for trans communities when their resources and basic liberties are most under attack.

MODEL NEW APPROACHES in fundraising for the next generation with radical equitability and a sense of play.

BUILD COALITIONS BETWEEN TRANS AND CIS GAY PEOPLE in an effort to diffuse homogeneity, share resources, and learn how to have fun together.
