Day of Remembrance is a commemoration,

a stringing through of memories of loss, resilience, and survival,

Of remembering the bonds and unity that George Floyd's and Dion Johnson's murder inspired in our city,

A reminder that only WE keep us safe in a police state,

that joy is a tool in our resistance,

And that until we can all thrive,

we will build the foundation for the future of our leaders & our community,

together.
