Justin grew up in North Carolina where schools close for an inch of snow, and after graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, he set out to NYC for med school. There he kept bumping into a very cute nursing student who said she was from Lake Tahoe. He pretended to know where that was for a few months until he finally came out to meet her family and was enamored with the girl and the place.
After a stint as an Army physician (thanks for tuition!) that took them both to Washington, Hawaii and Colorado, he started his anesthesia residency at Stanford. As he neared the end of training, his lovely wife asked him if he would ever consider working in a small mountain town hospital to which he responded, “Yeah, duh.”
Justin feels extremely lucky to serve this amazing community and raise his kids in such a magical place. Thanks for your support, and apologies in advance for any lasting trauma after watching him attempt to rhythmically move his body. Love you, Claire, Charlie, Cooper and Wren- I’ll never stop embarrassing myself for you!
