Lisa Madden has served with the Truckee Police Department since 2010 and currently holds the rank of Police Captain. Over the years, she has built a reputation for community-focused policing and strong relationships throughout Truckee. She also has the important responsibility of serving as the handler for the department’s outreach canine, Mugz, who many would argue is the real celebrity of the pair. Mugz spends his time charming the community while Lisa carries the treats and holds the leash.
Outside of work, Lisa stays busy keeping up with her two energetic boys as they play a variety of sports and stay active year-round. Much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines, supporting their passions, and embracing the organized chaos that comes with raising active kids.
When it comes to dancing, Lisa brings exactly zero professional skills to the stage. Rhythm is questionable, coordination is negotiable, but enthusiasm is guaranteed. She’s participating to support an organization that promotes wellness, growth, and community at every stage of life, and to prove that sometimes the bravest thing a police captain can do is dance in public.
