Participating in Dancing with the High Point Stars is definitely outside of my comfort zone, but supporting the young people in our community is something I care deeply about. Communities In Schools does incredible work surrounding students with a community of support and helping remove barriers so they can succeed in school and in life.
As President and CEO of the YMCA of High Point, I see firsthand the difference it makes when young people have caring adults, positive opportunities, and a community that believes in them. At the Y, our mission shares that same commitment to helping youth reach their full potential, especially those who need us most.
I’m also grateful for the opportunity to partner with another nonprofit that is making such a meaningful impact in our community. When organizations come together around a shared purpose, we can reach more people, strengthen our community, and make an even greater difference for our youth.
If stepping onto the dance floor helps shine a light on that important work and support the young people of High Point, then I’m willing to step outside my comfort zone—and hopefully learn a few dance moves along the way!
