Your donation will help us:

Mobilize coalitions to fight for the rights of LGBTQIA+ children and adults
Offer monthly support, discussion and affinity groups for the Desi LGBTQIA+ community, their parents and families with a focus on serving people where they are.
Offer personalized, culturally and linguistically sensitive individual peer-to-peer support for LGBTQ+ South Asians, their parents and family members through Saathi, our one of a kind Peer Support program.
Develop and present culturally relevant education and activities to build a strong, inclusive, multigenerational community. Our virtual events bring in national and even global attendance, and our in-person organizing has grown in 16 metro areas in states including California, Chicago, DC/Maryland/Virginia, Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York/New Jersey, North Carolina and Seattle.
Build allyship within the South Asian community to stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ children and adults.
Work towards generational change so that the next generation of South Asian LGBTQIA+ children are supported and affirmed in their journey.
Represent the needs and concerns of South Asian families of LGBTQ+ loved ones to policy makers, religious institutions, educators, healthcare providers and advocate for resources for our community.

Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies was conceived in 2017 by a South Asian mother of a queer and trans child and incorporated in September 2020 as a non-profit organization to provide support, education and advocacy for South Asian LGBTQIA+ folks and their families. We serve Desi individuals and families who trace their origins to the South Asian subcontinent. Our mission is to build a Desi Diaspora community that values, affirms and celebrates all LGBTQIA+ identities.
