Are you an OT student, practitioner, or healthcare professional ready to tackle systemic barriers and advance health equity? Join us for a transformative four-week virtual series starting in February 1, 2025, designed to take you from discussing advocacy to actively engaging in it. This series will explore the history and ongoing effects of white supremacy in occupational therapy, provide strategies for dismantling inequities in education and practice, and empower you to take action toward justice. Sessions include: Where Are All the Black OTs: A Brief History of White Supremacy in the United States, Solidarity & Solutions: Moving OT Education & Practice Forward, Tactics to Delay Justice: What They Are & How to Move Around Them, and What We Owe Each Other: An Exploration of Love & Solidarity. You'll leave with actionable resources, including action packs for OT education and clinical practice, occupational justice tools, and continuing education credits. Plus, by participating, you’ll be invited to join a community action committee dedicated to sustained advocacy. The cost is sliding scale ($0 - $50/session), with funds supporting Diverse-OT programming, material resources, and mutual aid initiatives. Fun fact: Our volunteer board ensures that 100% of donations go directly into supporting our community. Sign up today and take the next step in creating a more just and inclusive OT profession!
