Eat Your Cake Too exists for one simple reason: because no child should feel forgotten on their birthday just because money is tight.

When we opened Terre Haute coverage, we knew it would take time to build trust and relationships with donors, businesses, and sponsors.

Consistently though, Terre Haute has had one of the highest levels of need we serve, and we didn’t want kids to wait while that foundation was built. At the same time, trust and relationships couldn’t be built without beginning to serve.

So in this grey area, we personally covered the gaps when donations didn’t come in.

That approach allowed us to celebrate Terre Haute kids right away while we built trust and made connections. Unfortunately, it isn’t sustainable long-term.

Each birthday box costs $50 and includes a treat, a gift, decorations, and the reminder that their community showed up for them.

Our current goal to prevent pausing Terre Haute is to raise $1,000 by the end of February. That would cover 20 Terre Haute kids’ birthdays in March and allow us to keep coverage open while we actively work toward long-term sustainability through sponsors, grants, and in-person fundraisers.

So, in the name of consistent transparency, here’s what happens next:

• If we do NOT reach the goal, we will celebrate all February birthdays, then pause Terre Haute coverage in March while we focus on building donor and sponsor support so we can reopen as soon as finances allow.

• If we DO reach the goal, we will continue fulfilling Terre Haute birthdays through March while still working toward dedicated sponsorship and long-term funding for the area.

Either way, Terre Haute matters to us. This campaign isn’t about panic or guilt. It’s about building a cushion so we never have to choose between saying yes to one child and no to another.

Every dollar celebrates a child. Every share helps us reach the people who can keep this going.
