Princess Buttercup is a Blue Tick Coonhound with a big voice, an even bigger heart, and absolutely no filter — which, frankly, is exactly what this town needs. Rescued from North East Coonhound Rescue and hailing originally from Virginia, Buttercup traded southern roots for salty sea air and never looked back. Salem isn't just where she lives now — it's where she belongs, and she's ready to prove it.
As she gears up to celebrate her very first birthday, Buttercup isn't asking for cake and presents (okay, she's asking for those too) — she's asking for the chance to give back to the community that took her in and made her feel like family. What better gift to herself than a mandate to serve?
Why Buttercup?
Buttercup is young, but don't let the puppy-dog eyes fool you — she is fearless, opinionated, and never afraid to bay her truth from the rooftops (or the backyard, much to her neighbors' delight at 6 AM). She believes leadership isn't about being the biggest dog in the room — it's about having the loudest bark and the softest heart.
Her platform is simple: more belly rubs for all, shorter lines at the treat counter, and a Salem where every pup — rescue or not — gets their fair shot at the good life.
Community Ties
Buttercup's connection to Salem runs deep — both her Mom and Dad work at The Lobster Shanty, and if you ask her (and even if you don't), she'll happily tell you it's her favorite place in the entire city. Some might call it a conflict of interest. Buttercup calls it insider knowledge — she knows exactly what this town's hardest workers need to keep serving the community with a smile (and maybe a snack under the table).
