Hi Birdhouse Community,

We are reaching out today as Birdhouse addresses the headwinds created by government shutdown. As you may know Birdhouse is a SNAP market, that is, we accept SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) that allows those facing food insecurity access to the healthy nutritious local foods found at Birdhouse.

We have just learned that the federal government will not be paying November SNAP benefits leaving our SNAP customers scrambling to find the resources necessary to purchase food for their families. SNAP customers are already food insecure. They are in no position to wait for politicians in DC to figure out how to reopen the government. They need to feed their families today!

We have started a Give Butter campaign with a goal of $6000, an amount we think will cover our current SNAP customers through the end of 2025. We ask you to consider a donation so that Birdhouse can keep SNAP benefits going during the shutdown and please share this info with others.

In the event that SNAP is covered by the Commonwealth or some other as yet named resource, your contribution will be used to support the 2nd Baptist Church Food Pantry. Birdhouse and the SBCFP have worked together for the past 3 years addressing the food security needs in Randolph. Your donations will further those efforts in getting fresh produce to the most vulnerable in our community.
