The ECHO Fund supports independent, working musicians by funding creative projects that support new growth and spur creative and career development. Oregon's independent music scene is respected as a hotbed of inventive, emerging talent. Our artists value creativity over commerce, and innovation over imitation.

Rising living costs and a presumption that music should be free endangers the livelihoods of individual artists and Oregon's treasured music scene as a whole. The ECHO Fund is the first Oregon-based grant program solely designed to support the creative projects of professional artists in the ways they need it: To make a record, fund a tour, hire a publicist, buy new gear, take time to write, and more.

A portion of every ticket sold during Portland Music Month (PDXMM) goes to support The ECHO Fund. That, along with larger contributions from generous donors like you, helps us distribute this important support for musicians twice a year.

Every donation directly supports artist project funding. Our grant applications are judged by an impartial panel of Oregon music industry professionals. Our most recent 2022 round of funding saw $45,000 distributed to 15 artists and their bands (totaling more than 30 artists) for project funding. Moreover, this funding stays in Oregon, with artists agreeing to use Oregon music industry vendors to complete their projects.

The ECHO Fund is deeply committed to counteracting our region's historical under-investment in artists of color. More than 50% of our 2022 grants were distributed to BIPOC musicians.
