We are asking for your support for the Northern Arizona Book Festival, a nonprofit organization in its 29th year of celebrating literature on the Colorado Plateau.

We support yearlong programming across Northern Arizona and host a multi-day annual festival that will return April 10th-13th, 2025. The festival offers live and virtual programs for all ages, including readings from multiple local and regional authors, poetry slams, workshops, and a day of interactive activities and live performances for all ages in Heritage Square. Past years have featured authors such as Toni Morrison, Joy Harjo, Darcie Little Badger, Shonto Begay, Ofelia Zepeda, Rex Lee Jim, Benjamin Garcia, Ash Davidson, Jake Skeets, Sherwin Bitsui, Laura Tohe, Ann Cummins, and Nicole Walker.

This remarkable festival is made possible by grants, our all-volunteer board, and donors like you.

Admission to all festival events is free and open to the public, and with your support we can continue to provide free festival events for the coming years, and bolster support for yearlong programming.

With donations this year, we hope to support:

Transportation to and from communities on nearby reservations and far beyond Flagstaff.
Providing book donations, workshops, and readings to diverse communities.
Paying our local venues, local authors, and local collaborating organizations.
Housing for visiting authors.

Additionally, many of our writers and readers are coming from outside of Flagstaff and we'd love to be able to celebrate their work and encourage them to visit our wonderful local restaurants and businesses through small gift cards. If you can donate a gift card or two we would gladly pick them up.

Established in 1997, the Northern Arizona Book Festival (NOAZBF) is a literary nonprofit based out of Kinłání (aka the bordertown of Flagstaff, Arizona). It coordinates readings, panels, workshops, contests, and more that reflect the literary interests and cultural issues that define life in the Colorado Plateau region of Northern Arizona. As part of its regular programming, the NOAZBF includes the Indigenous Writers' Symposium, Young Readers' Festival, Northern Arizona Youth Poetry Council and Flagstaff Off-the-Page,.
