The East Helena PTO is taking on a special project to help raise funds to support the EH School district in it's effort to replace boilers at Eastgate Elementary (Pre-K and Kindergarten) and Radley Elementary (3rd-5th grade). The EH PTO consists of a group of dedicated and involved individuals who volunteer their time to support the education of children at the East Helena Public Schools by fostering relationships among the school, parents, teachers and our community.

The Radley Boiler Project was created due to boilers at both schools being found to be in bad shape and in need of replacement a year ago. The equipment has lived past their typical life expectancy. The insurance company notified the school district that they needed to stop using one of the boilers at Radley because an inspector had found a leak and was concerned that it could fail. In response, the school district developed a plan to upgrade the heating plants at both schools to provide more efficient systems that would not only save money over the long haul, but keep kids and teachers safe and warm.

The school district had some funds set aside to help with the replacement costs, but boilers like these are incredibly complex and expensive. They are $140,000 short of the full amount for this project. The school district has saved where they can and submitted grant requests. The Treacy Foundation was able to pledge $75,000 toward the project as seed money for other fundraising efforts.

Please aid us in our efforts to create a safe, warm and welcoming environment for the Pre-K through 5 students who spend a good portion of their day in these schools through the long Montana winter months. Thank you for your consideration!
