Calling all Golden Bears! It's Giving Tuesday, which kicks off the end-of-the-year giving season. Please help us raise $10,000 for the Daily Cal's 2023 Giving Tuesday Campaign! Donations from alumni and supporters help the Daily Cal fulfill its mission of providing a hands-on training ground for the next generation of award-winning student journalists.

This Giving Tuesday, we are thrilled to share just one example of the brilliant content that the Daily Cal produces. We were the only student publication to win an award this year from the Society of Professional Journalists Northern California Chapter. Two weeks ago, the Daily Cal received a Photojournalism award for its story on Berkeley's "so-called" chess club. Congratulations to Kyle Garcia Takata, Aileen Park, Jonathan Hale, Summer Choi, and William Yau who contributed as photographers, and Amber X. Chen, who wrote the article.

We are so proud of the team! And just as importantly, the Telegraph chess community has used the feature and the photos in the piece to advocate for the community they've built over the past couple years.
