Welcome to our startup forest school near Hickory, NC! Our founders, Sarah and Jamie, are two moms who were yearning for a nature-based, child-led education program for their own kids. Since it didn't exist in Hickory, they set out on a two-year journey of planning and designing their very own program from the ground up. Their passion project, Earthsong Explorers, officially launched for 8 weeks of summer camp and their inaugural school year in 2025.

Jamie Forbes is our Co-Founder and Director - creating the magic behind the scenes while Sarah Todd, our Co-Founder and Head Guide, creates the magic in the forest. Jamie is a certified forest school teacher, Charlotte-native, Davidson College grad, and mom of 3. Sarah is a Cornell University grad, a mom of 2, a homesteader, a walking encyclopedia for all things outdoor, and an expert in fermentation. She is certified in Wilderness First Aid and has experience working in nature-based education at the Ithaca Children's Garden.

Sarah and Jamie are beyond excited to see this dream into fruition, not only for their own children but for the children of our community. Thank you so much for your support - we couldn't be living this dream without our kindred families.
