Welcome to the 26 Foundation

Founded in 2022, the 26 Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young individuals who have experienced the loss of a parent. Our mission is to ensure that anyone in their 20s or younger, facing the challenges of parental bereavement, has access to the tools, resources, and community they need to navigate their grief and build a hopeful future.

We understand that grief can be an isolating experience, and that's why we're here. Through our financial assistance program, we provide support for grief counseling services, easing the burden of therapy costs and helping young people find healing and guidance. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to seek professional help without the added stress of financial limitations.

In addition to financial support, we foster connection and understanding through our various initiatives. Our monthly "Grief Chat" sessions bring individuals together in a safe and supportive environment to share their experiences and learn from one another. We also utilize social media platforms and online communities to engage young people, providing a space to connect, find solace, and access valuable resources.

Since our inception, we have made remarkable progress in supporting young individuals on their grief journey. We have awarded scholarships to deserving students, helping them pursue their dreams and aspirations after high school. Our network of compassionate mental health care providers continues to grow, ensuring access to quality grief counseling for those in need. Through partnerships and collaborations, we aim to expand our reach and make a lasting impact on the lives of grieving youth.

In memory of Jackie Wnuk

The 26 Foundation was born out of love and remembrance for Jackie Wnuk, a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. Jackie, deeply involved in the Beekmantown school district, was known for her unwavering dedication to the well-being of young people. She was a guiding light and a source of inspiration for her children and the community.

It is with Jackie's spirit in mind that we continue to carry forth her legacy. The foundation's mission is a testament to her enduring impact, as we strive to provide the support and resources that she believed every young person deserves.
