Michael Zweig is professor emeritus of economics at the State University of NY at Stony Brook, where he was the founding director of the Center for Study of Working Class Life and recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award of Excellence in Teaching. He has a long history of combining scholarship with activism in the peace, civil rights, and labor movements. His 1991 edited book Religion and Economic Justice fostered dialog between liberation theologians of different faiths with progressive social scientists, themes he continues to explore in his recent book Class, Race, and Gender: Challenging the Injuries and Divisions of Capitalism. Michael is active in The Beacon for Democracy Shine the Light! at The Wittenberg Triangle in NYC, co-chairing its national leaders' group and representing it to Hands Off NYC and May Day Strong.

Father William Brisotti, a native of the Bronx, was ordained as a priest for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre in June 1968. He has had extensive experience with issues related to Latin America since 1964, working first as a seminarian with cooperatives in parishes of the Maryknoll Society in Peru and Chile in the 1960’s, and later as a priest with the people displaced by the Central American wars of the 1980’s, both in their countries and as immigrants in the USA. Rev. Brisotti is a member of the Advisory Committee of Abraham’s Table of Long Island, fostering a spirit of common heritage, peace and cooperation among Jews, Christians and Muslims in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
