Dear friends,

You may or may not know about the ongoing conflict in Eastern Congo. There are various armed rebel groups who have injured and killed hundreds of innocent Congolese people, as well as have left entire communities displaced. Men, women, and children being forced to leave their homes.

The rebel groups have taken over entire territories and the number of displaced people groups is increasing daily. Almost 8 million people are internally displaced, Over 500,000 people have fled to neighboring countries to escape the violence.

Over 400,000 children living without basic healthcare, education, in constant peril.

We know that we can’t save all of Congo, though if we would, if we could. But with your help, we can serve the refugee community in Goma- DR Congo.

Refugee camps or areas are often lacking in basic needs. The living conditions are harsh, especially for traveling families. To be a refugee means living outside or in small, covered tents, and constantly moving for safety without any of your necessities and without any working opportunities. All of this on top of the grief, and trauma that comes with being forced to escape your home and leave your murdered loved ones for just a chance to live.

But amidst all the lack, fear, and chaos - there is hope.

We have traveled to this region and know the needs of this refugee community. We have seen the children starving of hunger, getting cut from sharp lava rocks due to lack of proper foot wear. The suffering in these camps is unbearable. They need hope, as well as food, clean water, blankets, clothing, and shoes!

The Ntibonera Foundation in partnership with a grass root organization - Focus Congo would like to share the love and hope of Christ through supporting these refugees on the ground and meeting their basic needs.

We’re raising $45,000 for this project! Every dollar will go towards collecting and shipping supplies, ( 25,000 pairs of shoes clothes and medical supplies) as well as purchasing food and providing for the refugees.
