The mission of The Edna House is to give women an opportunity to recover from alcohol and drug addiction by providing a safe, sober place to live and to learn life skills to maintain 12-step-based sobriety throughout their lifetime.

Long-term sober living in a supportive community

The Edna House lets women stay in a safe, sober residence long-term. We’re not tied to insurance limits. Our goal is a lifetime of sobriety.

Empowering women to save themselves

Women who come to The Edna House have frequently been through other recovery programs. Here, they find more because they need more. We use the research-supported and nationally recognized 12-Step Program.

Learning from women who have succeeded

We listen to our alumnae – the women who have already successfully completed our program. We have more than 300 active alumnae who help the women by sponsoring, providing rides, and working our fundraisers. The president of our Alumnae Association is a voting member of our Board of Directors.

No labels, no stigma

The women at The Edna House are incredibly strong. And they want to live sober lives and be reunited with family. A survey we commissioned with Case Western Reserve University students showed 99% of our alumnae re-established positive family relations during or after their stay here. We believe returning a grandmother, mother, aunt, or sister to their family is priceless.
