Meet Ed, a 6-year-old pittie mix with a heart full of love and a story that tugs at your soul. We suspect Ed might have some Boston Terrier in him too, with his stocky, compact build and his weight of approximately 50 pounds. This sweet boy has had a tough life—he spent two long years in a shelter, patiently waiting for his chance at a forever home. Despite his challenging past, Ed has shown us nothing but love, joy, and resilience. He’s nearly 7 years old (his birthday is just around the corner!) and is ready to enjoy life to its fullest.

Recently, Ed had to undergo emergency surgery to remove an obstruction in his stomach, and his road to recovery isn’t over yet. This life-saving procedure was costly, but we couldn’t turn our backs on this incredible dog who has endured so much. Ed’s medical bills are significant, and with his ongoing care—including post-surgery restrictions, medications, and follow-up vet visits—we need your help to ensure he gets everything he needs to heal and thrive.

Ed’s personality is everything you’d hope for in a dog companion. He’s a snuggle bug who just wants to be near his people, a certified couch potato when you need a Netflix buddy, and a playful pal for dogs who respect his boundaries. He’s house-trained, dislikes kennels at first but settles in well, and has some fun quirks like his curious disdain for hand towels. He’s even been working with a trainer to learn new tricks and alternatives to the word “no,” and he’s catching on beautifully. Due to his recent surgery, Ed’s playtime will be limited for now, but we know he’ll bounce back stronger than ever.
